Finance Assistant

Hours: 20 hours per week

Contract Type: Part Time Permanent

Salary: Pro rata – £14,102.40 – 14, 643.20 (FTE £24,679.20 – 25,625.60)

We are now seeking a  part time (Purchase Ledger) Finance Assistant to assist in the smooth running of the payroll department at Granville House. Reporting into the Accounts / Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include the following;

  • Processing Purchase Invoices onto SAGE 200 in a timely and accurate manner. You will also ensure the monthly purchase ledger statements are reconciled to Sage and problem solve if invoices / credits are missing.
  • Support the Aged Creditor review process by way of being able to review and allocate payments to invoices.
  • Carry out supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Process Business Credit Card expenditure, ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and escalate any issues to the Payroll / Accounts Manager.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with timesheet checks.
  • Supporting with Aged debtor review as required.

This is a great time to join a busy payroll team and make a difference within a charity with a clear vision for it’s future.  The role is approximately 20 hours a week and this can be worked over 4 or 5 days a week and there may be an opportunity for limited hybrid working, with prior agreement.

We are looking for candidates who have the following skills and experience;

  • Relevant accounts office experience in a commercial environment or within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience of providing a Supplier Management service
  • Evidence of resolving queries with customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge/experience in the use of Sage 200 accounting system.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a close knit team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Experience of assisting with a payroll
  • Evidence of providing exceptional customer service
  • AAT qualification or working towards would be desirable but not essential. What is more important is that you have the relevant skills and experience.
