We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Stockport to Skills Group in Heaton Moor last week. Located on Parsonage Road, Skills Group is our specialist day centre, which provides disabled adults with the opportunity to spend the day in a safe and caring environment, whilst taking part in fulfilling activities such as arts and crafts, IT, cookery, gardening and music.
The Mayor had the chance to take a tour of the service as well as meeting the team and Service Users. Sarah Thomas, Chief Executive commented “We were thrilled to meet the Mayor of Stockport and have the opportunity to share the essential work we do supporting local people with complex disabilities. We also had a great discussion about our future estate plans, whereby we are looking for new premises to better meet the specialist needs of our Service Users at Skills Group and also host our back-office function within Stockport.”
We are a local not for profit charity providing support to children, young people and adults with a wide range of complex physical and /or learning disabilities as well as autistic spectrum conditions. Our aim is simply to enable those with a disability to live a fulfilled and independent life. We provide support 7 days a week across our various services, whether that be in the home, community, specialist day centre or residential care home.
